Large Scottish General Hospital
In 2011 we discussed with this Hospital options for ensuring optimum control for the provision of legionella services. It was decided that the best option would be a silver copper ionisation programme which was introduced in that year to serve all incoming water to the Hospital. This has resulted in a compliance programme of control with no positive legionella results since introduction for this large and complex general hospital.
This is supported by evidence of control via our electronic logbook and management system provides full evidence of compliance for NHS and HSE records. This programme of electronic management has been rolled out to many smaller Hospitals and Health Centres within the region and forms the basis of legionella compliance for the Health Board. By utilising our Risk Assessment and monitoring services we assist the Health Board in the management of records for all buildings.
